Another year has past and left good memories, so many in fact that it was hard to choose my top 5 anime’s of 2013 so I’m doing something a bit different. I’m choosing my top 5 anime’s I liked and the top 5 best mentions of 2013. But my favorite memory of 2013 was when I did the Sumo Ramen Challenge (photo above).
Number 5) Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko
What’s better than throwing Hentai everywhere but a show that’s not about Hentai. With the colorful cast and a very funny story Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko places 5th in my top 5 mainly because it was so out there that it left me smiling and laughing at the antics of a perverted kid and the stony cat statue. For a side buster check out Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko and be sure to have your body pillow near by.
Number 4) Date A Live
Besides a cast of lovely alien girls Date A Live used an unconventional way to save the world by dating a girl from another world as a dating sim. For anyone who likes a harem or just want to see how it’s like to try and date a girl as if it was a dating sim then Date A Live is right for you.
Number 3) Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru
Childhood friend? Check. Past Life Lover? Check. Blackmailing Girlfriend? Check. “Oreshura” had it’s ups and downs not to mention a very confused boy who was not only blackmailed with a very embarrassing note book about his middle school days but was told that in a past life she was his lover and to top it off you have your childhood friend to throw into the mix. This sounds like a recipe for disaster but it ends up being a fun and sweet anime, so if you have had these problems or ever wondered what it would be like then check out Oreshura if your not killed in the process.
Number 2) Hataraku Maou-sama!
This anime was just fun. Demon Lord almost defeated just to flee to another world striped of most of his magic and has to work at McRonald for Super Size me wages. And to top it off the Hero follows him to finish him off just to find out that she works as a telemarketer keeping an “eye” on the Demon Lord. Watch the Demon Lord and the Hero battle not with weapons but dealing with trying to make it to their next pay check in Hataraku Maou-sama.
Number 1) Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo
This one might come as a surprise for most of you but I think it was a very under rated show and should have more to it. Take 3 very bored people from other worlds and put there other worldly powers to the test with other communities, (pervy) Demon Lords and Kuro Usagi (black rabbit) not for fame or glory but because it’s interesting. If this sounds interesting then check out Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo, but be warned that it’s only 10 episodes with an OVA.
Top 5 honorable mention anime’s
1) Golden Time.
Lost your memories, going to a new college then meting you new best friend and his over the top childhood/self proclaimed girlfriend. Who says starting over wasn’t going to be interesting, find out why it’s Golden Time.
2) Tokyo Ravens.
If it wasn’t enough to be a descendant of a line of Spirit hunters but after a serous of events you now are training to be the best familiar to avenge and look for the owner to one of your friends. So gear up and watch Tokyo Ravens because it’s cooler than the title.
3) Maoyuu Maou Yuusha
Ever thought anime couldn’t make agriculture interesting? Well here’s your chance to learn! Not only did this anime keep me entertained but it was the only anime where we could pronounce their names! Come and watch Maoyuu Maou Yuusha not only for the fun, but for the plot.
4) Kotoura-san
For anyone who can read anyone’s mind it’s easy to know why others might hate you but what if you can’t read someone’s mind all that well? Watch Kotoura-san try to learn what it means to have friends and being accepted for who you are while even if you can read their minds.
5) Devil Survivor 2 The Animation
What if you could see your own death? What would you do different? Would you fight for your self, for family or friends, or maybe for your lover? In Devil Survivor 2 The Animation you can do that by summoning a monster to your side and help you fight your battles as you try to avoid your own death that others will see before you can.
There’s my top 10 anime’s of 2013 I just have to mention Attack on Titan not because of liking or not liking but because it was one of those anime’s I would tell anyone to watch but also read the manga since it’s much better.
