Yes i’m sure you just read this thinking, “Another Anime based fighter…” And you would be right to think that but i think you’ll be surprised how different this game is over other fighters. Normally you can compare fighting games to 1 of the 3 more popular games like BlazeBlu, Street Fighter and King of Fighters. I feel as though Aqua Pazza follows under the King of Fighters (KoF) since it’s fighting style isn’t very hard to play from the get go but there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the characters. First off i have to talk about the game play, it’s a 2 on 2 team battle system but it’s not a “tag” fighter. You have control over one player and also an assist player, by pressing the “D” button or using the directional pad with D you can use 2 different attack to assist you in our fight. Next is the fighting style, one of the things you’ll notice first is that it’s not that easy to chain combos together or link a lot of there specials but with timing your partner that can be over come, also unlike most of the fighting games this one doesn’t have a “quick recovery” so this can also being a new form to the game play.
Every Character plays very unique so to learn all of them will take awhile but even with there “colorful” playing styles you can easily enjoy to learn them. Aside from the main story there is an “extra story” mode you can play through as well but you need to beat the normal story mode with that character before you can enter the extra mode. Since this is a Japanese game and has not/probably will not be released out of Japan you can still access the online verses even with an American PSN ID.
