About two years ago an Indiegogo project came up that Anime fans could get behind. That combine Cat Ears (Nekomimi) with working speakers in them, headphones with LED lights to create the Cat Ear Headphones. The crowdfunding project was asking for around $250.000 but far exceeded their goal, ending with just over $7 million and even more pre-orders. The small company known as Axent Wear had a huge hurdle to cross 20,000+ of people backed their Cat Ear Headphones, finding a place to manufacture them all. Over the course of two years most of the backers were thinking that the company wasn’t following through with their promises till an announcement in late 2014: they had partnered with Brookstone to manufacture their headphones and will be shipping in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2015. The Axent Cat Ear Headphones were released to the backers on Nov 30th and now can be found at all Brookstone locations for $149.99. It comes in 4 colors, Red, Green, Blue and Purple.

Real Acton Heroes is a doll manufacture of popular shows from Star Wars to Legend of Zelda (LInk) but don’t get these mixed up with the dolls hanging in your grandmas house. This Saber comes from Fate/Zero that came with a bonus summoning circle for first release buyers. What drove me to like this Saber she comes with more than one face pallet, which isn’t very common for Real Action Heroes.

The Real Action Heroes dolls are more like big action figures since they have ball joints and double jointed elbows that allow them for more of an array of poses. What makes these dolls different is under the skin is a frame or the skeleton for the back, shoulders, hips and head to move more freely. (Read more…)

Another year has past and left good memories, so many in fact that it was hard to choose my top 5 anime’s of 2013 so I’m doing something a bit different. I’m choosing my top 5 anime’s I liked and the top 5 best mentions of 2013. But my favorite memory of 2013 was when I did the Sumo Ramen Challenge (photo above).

Number 5) Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko

What’s better than throwing Hentai everywhere but a show that’s not about Hentai. With the colorful cast and a very funny story Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko places 5th in my top 5 mainly because it was so out there that it left me smiling and laughing at the antics of a perverted kid and the stony cat statue. This year KT and I did two separate conventions so I wasn’t able to do interviews but I took a lot of photos. This year’s Anime Expo was the biggest attendance yet with, yes you guessed it, “Over 9000” anime, manga, game fans and cosplayers gathered together to show off their skilled costume or meet old and new friends. Also this year AX got a few bands and artist  to perform at the convention. There was the Visual Kei concert that featured 3 bands/artist, Cell, Moon Stream and Kaya. Also performing was Porno Graffitti which is known for some Anime openings like one of the Fullmetal Alchemist and Magi opening. Not to mention Good Smile with Huke and Max Factory with our old friends at Cake Nana. (Read more…)

After Accel World finished up a OVA came out were Haru and his friends are looking for the “network troublemaker”. In a nutshell they find themselves in an area of the net where they can not use their Burst Link forums but another version of them. Here in the Figma version we see Kuroyukihime’s Accel Assult version but her wings is actually Haru combined on to her. (Read more…)

When this anime first came out I didn’t really pay much attention to it since it didn’t sound all that great but now that I’ve watched it, I now suffer from a case of foot in mouth syndrome. Okay but first to give you an idea what this anime is about. Tachibabna Hibiki is to attend a concert with two idols Amou Kanade and Kazanari Tsubasa from Zwei Wings with her best friend Kohinata Miku but for family reasons can’t make it and leaves Hibiki to watch it alone. Nyaruko-san an anime based on the myths of Cthulhu and all of his minions invading earth for, yes you guessed it, earth entertainment but more importantly the Japanese entertainment.  But fear not Nyarlathotep (or Nyaruko for short) is sent to earth to defend ageist these foes and protect Mahiro (a boy who’s being targeted) to be sold on the black market.
