LittleBigKast – Episode 58 : E3 Live Commentary

I’m officially going to unpredict everything I want to happen. Next year, Half Life 3 is TOTALLY not going to be launched. Nuh uh, no way. (See that defensive pessimism I was talking about? Hmm?)

This E3 conference may be the stuff of legend. Sony’s session drove stock prices up for many if not all the companies mentioned, but, forget the stock prices; we were promised the lure of nostalgia and the glorious future of Sony all in one sitting.

Jeff raced to his E3 hotel to prep for the people he’d meet (he met Shuhei Yoshida!) and the videos he’d take at the show (check them out through Patreon) and connected just in time to chime in with all five of us.

Our loves at Sony didn’t disappoint us.

From Jeff almost getting murdered by a shady cab driver to Rachel lamenting her predictions (for only the Sony session!), we give you our most candid opinions and hilarity as only we can bring you. Oh, and if you want to watch me freak out completely and cry, jump to the Final Fantasy VII Remake reveal.

The Rundown:

  • The Last Guardian gameplay (six years and we finally get a taste!)
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn (Caveman + Steampunk = Cavepunk)
  • Hitman (Could be interesting…)
  • Street Fighter V (Cell-shaded arcade goodies!)
  • Dreams (Another creative venture from Media Molecule. We can always trust they’ll let players actually “play.”)
  • No Man’s Sky (I’m going to get so freakin’ lost in this game. Give me Google Maps when I play!)
  • Destiny’s The Taken King DLC (Well, there goes any hope of getting the crew on a different game.)
  • Shenmue III (Watch as KT loses his mind and tries to give $500 to the Kickstarter during the show.)
  • World of Final Fantasy (It’s so cuuuuute! The lead’s last name is Chiba and he’s making chibi characters…)
  • Final Fantasy VII Official Remake (OHDEARLAWD YAAAAAAAAS!!!)
  • Playstation Vue (Ahem, a la carte television? I can get on board that train.)
  • Project Morpheus (It’ll do … something. We don’t know what because we got all of 39 seconds of display.)
  • Uncharted 4 (Oh yeah, Nathan Drake. I guess he’s a big deal or something… *preorders 14 copies of the game* My preciousssssssss.)

Mah goodness, I’m going to need to take some time to recover from all this…wake me when we have release dates.

LittleBigKast – Episode 57: E3 and Jeff-Free

As you will see, this episode brings Rachel a little closer to insanity as she uses our new Twitch.tv habit to add structure to her life every Monday night for “Monday at Moxxi’s” Borderlands gaming with Robin who is shamelessly promoting this (twitch.tv/pirat3rachel & twitch.tv/redmagesunite).

Drew revels in his ability to have advising meetings via Skype and is open to advise anyone (and we mean ANYONE) about majors, college and future goals. He’s an inspiration to us all 🙂

This week, we follow suit with the gaming world and make stabs in the dark about E3 this coming week.

LittleBigKast – Episode 54: Marathoning Fury Road

Field trips, Mad Max, Witcher 3, and marathon running? Yes. The answer to that question is yes.

The love of all things gaming permeate through the week’s activities for the Kast. Robin and Drew reminisce fondly about running the dreaded relay marathon in the middle of a freakin’ downpour and all the people running off to pee in the woods, Jeff loses his mind about the House of Wolves expansion, and we expose Rachel as not knowing all the lyrics to the “Duck Tales” theme song.

Our Indie Game of the Week is the ever-entertaining Rogue Legacy. Want to know what we thought about it? Zip over to 40:48 to hear Drew sing…and talk about the game, too.  I even give backup jazz hands.

In an impressive feat, the whole Kast all attended an exclusive screening (not really, it was $5 Tuesdays at the theater) of Mad Max: Fury Road and we all agreed it was all that and a bag of warm, buttery popcorn. We then retired to all play Witcher 3 and compare progress in the game. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is our summer lives (not really, but we can dream).

Oh yes, it’s the ever-indomitable Robin bringing you the glory of the LittleBigKast this week. Don’t get us wrong, we love our token ginger, he just gets excited and can’t stop talking. Lucky for me, I constantly have “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey on constant loop in my head. If you see my eyes glaze over at any point, you’ll know I’m just about to hit the chorus on my internal playlist.

Drew and I veer a little off topic with running stuff but jump right back into our insatiable love of games while Jeff just Jeffs all over the place. We have oodles of news about Assassins Creed: Syndicate, 13-year-old tantrums, and Witcher 3 along with new releases and a healthy dose of commentary.
